Sussex museums
From small village museums, such as Ditchling Museum to the larger town and city museums, there's something for every age group and interest in these Sussex museums.

Ropetackle Centre, Shoreham
We haven't visited this arts centre yet but our favourite guitarist, Shoreham-based Richard Durrant (who composed and played the music for the Luke Holland's five-part BBC documentary series set in and around the Sussex village of Ditchling), plays regularly at the Ropetackle, so I am confident that it must be a great venue. It offers a wide range of events and activities, from dancing to concerts. exhibitions and plays.

Charleston Farmhouse
Stunning house and gardens created by Vanessa Bell and other members of the Bloomsbury Group. A fascinating and beautiful place to visit, set in the heart of the Sussex South Downs, just off the A27, East of Brighton. Precise directions are provided on their website.

Middle Farm
Very close to Charleston Farmhouse, above, this brilliant farm on the A27 near Firle, is a great place to take the family - young and old alike will enjoy the animals, the fresh farm shop produce and the restaurant. Middle Farm also holds regular Farmers' Markets on Sundays, courses in keeping hens and other activities such as an annual Apple Festival. You can also organise your child's Birthday Party at there or simply take your kids to see the cows being milked! Precise directions are provided on their website.
