Glyndebourne Opera House
The first curtain rose at Glyndeboure in 1934. Since then, this stunningly located Opera House in the heart of the South Downs, just to the East of Lewes, has developed a prestigious, international reputation. Theatres in West Sussex
Chichester Festival Theatre
Easily reached by road (A27 west from Brighton) or rail, Chichester is a lovely old city with an interesting range of historical buildings, including a wonderful Cathedral. If you plan to visit the theatre, then it may be worth making a day or at least an afternoon and an evening of it. There are some great pubs and restaurants and the theatre itself has an excellent 'Brasserie', although you may need to book first if planning to dine prior to your play or show. Chichester Festival Theatre also runs some wonderful activities for children during the holiday periods.
