About this site

Hi ... my name's Yvonne and I thought that you might like to know a little more about this site and the way in which I built it.

I started creating this website in January 2007. At first it began as a hobby, but as the number of visitors grew, the whole process of creating a website really began to fascinate me. I have never had any formal training in web design; I simply purchased a package that taught me how to do it, step by step, in between my day job, shopping and cooking supper - here I've just taken my favourite dish, a pavlova, out of the oven ...

The first time I managed to get a photo up onto my site was fantastically exciting, so much so that my sons thought I'd injured myself - my shrieks of delight were so shrill.

Today, three years on, I've just topped over 300 visitors a day! I continue to build the site as and when I can (I also teach part-time and design gardens ), and look forward to the day when I will be able to devote more time to researching and providing high quality information - with a personal touch - for my visitors.

If you are interested in building your own website, whether it's to support or supplement an existing business, in order to create a new business, or simply to share a hobby or interest with others, either click on the in-text link above the photo, or check out the video below.
